Callahan Lake is wonderful enough to spend more       than a day at, Dick-sy Manor is a wonderful local campground, and needless to say North Fork Chief River flows through this region. On a tremendous day at Callahan Lake you can take a hike along the North Country Trail, and Musky Bay is reasonably close. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Chippewa River; there are other places here than Callahan Lake, for example Callahan Lake. An average amount of rain falls at                  Callahan Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. During the months of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Callahan Lake. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 10's with temperatures at Callahan Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Have a glorious hiking adventure along the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Chippewa River - West Fork offers some glorious whitewater.
