Loch Motel is a delightful choice, and you can hit the slopes at Christie Mountain close at hand. There's great hiking along the Deer Fly Trail; Island Lake WP363 Dam is a charming place, positively worth a visit. Good hiking is available
along the Hickory Ridge Trail; you're sure to bump into some fine people from Eau Claire here.
Duncan Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby; Cadotte Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Northshore Bar and Campground is a great local campground.
