Hager's Hilly Haven Campground
My husband and I were out riding around and found what we thought was Hilly Haven. We turned off hwy 28 and ended up driving into a gated area. We didn't think it was open. We drove through an area that looked like a dump with metal and plastic barrels in a creek. There were abandonded vehicles all over the place. When we drove into the gated area, the buildings there almost looked abandonded as well. If this was Hilly Haven, the DNR should have a look at the area. We were depressed when we left....

Little Elkhart Lake
13 miles away I am inquiring about Camp Anokijij. My father was one of the founder's of this camp for the YMCA in Racine, Wisconsin. He met my mother at this camp. This would have been in 1927 when the camp was first being built. I spent my summers as a young girl at Camp Anokijij - living in Squaw Village while my Dad, (Andy Andersen) was working at the camp. My three older brothers all attended the camp during the summers. I have many fond memories of this place. I worked there in 1958 as a senior staff counselor. I would be interested in visiting there for just a few hours during the week of June 16th - I am traveling in Wisconsin during that week. I understand that it is no longer a YMCA camp. I am curious as to who is now running Camp Anokijij. Interesting that they kept the same name. I still know the songs that we sang with Camp Anokijij in it. Sincerely, Kirsten Arthur...
Silver Lake
14 miles away Nice lake, but the people who live on the lake, mostly the lady next to the boat launch, are not so friendly. They seem to think that because they live on the lake that they own it. You aren't the only one who pays county taxes!...
