There is a magnificent hiking trail near Buffalo Lake called       the Black Lake Trail, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Brunsweiler River. And that's not all there is to do here in the Gogebic Range. Go for a hike on the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Buffalo Lake has to offer, you can camp at Chippewa River Campground; Marengo River is a good whitewater spot close by. The Gogebic Range scenery is always beautiful. This                  lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Bentley Lake, and Buffalo Lake is a fine location to camp, Day Lake Campground is a fine location. So much entertaining stuff in the Gogebic Range, just impressive. Lower Clam Lake Dam has nice water scenery and it's close to Buffalo Lake, and after a long day outdoors North Haven Country Cottage is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. At Buffalo Lake all through the summertime highs are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's.
