If you get bored of Bog Lake, you could also have a look at nearby Sunfish Lake; Chippewa River is a pleasant whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Christie Mountain has delightful slopes and a friendly staff, and you'll meet a lot of people from Eau Claire here. Through the warm days of summer here at Bog       Lake, high temperatures typically get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 20's while Bog Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Bog Lake, too good to be true. The O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail is a great hiking trail in close proximity to Bog Lake; in the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you                  can always go whitewater paddling on Duncan Creek. There is a good hiking trail near Bog Lake called the Deer Fly Trail, and a great close by hotel is Americinn - Chippewa Falls, Wi. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Rock Lake Resort and Campground since you're here at Bog Lake. Bog Lake is a good site of typical precipitation; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture.
