Go for a hike on the Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail; a good place to camp here at Blacksmith Lake is Fawn Lake Campground. This is a delightful area for people who like lakes. Little Blacksmith Lake is a lake nearby, and after a long day outdoors Kiryat Hotel is a brilliant site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Wolf River offers some brilliant whitewater, and dry warm beds await you at Settle Inn and Suites

| | Shawano. High temperatures at Blacksmith Lake through the warm days of summer are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Blacksmith Lake sink into the-10's.

Wolf River
| I went rafting there two days ago and I had SO much fun! One rapid, called lower Dells, has cliffs on both sides and we jumped of them. If you jump make sure to jump far out (I hit my knee on a rock) and face toward the light green trees when you are jumping from the right side (when you are facing the rapids) Also, it is fun to swim Dave's Wave which is the second half of the lower Duck's Nest. Make sure to go down Big Smokey! And then pull your raft to the side of the river and go under the waterfall!! So much fun! The only bad thing was the water level was low... so we got pretty scraped up on the rocks.... |

Boulder Lake Lodge

Boulder Lake Lodge Resort is 80 acres located in the Nicolet National Forest on spring fed Boulder Lake. The national forest forms the property line to the north and Boulder Lake is the property line on the south. We have every outdoor sport you can think of from motorized water sports to snowmobiling. There is fishing, hiking, snowshoeing and hunting in the adjecent national forest. At the end of the days activity or just for a mid-afternoon drink, you can stop by for a cold one and some good conversation at the Lodge. The Lodge is a central gathering point with a full liquor licence. Our RV sites are being upgraded all the time. We installed a new dump station in 2005. There are 20 sites with electric only. There are 3 with water and electric.COME VISIT US!!!... |
