If you come at the right time of year, Big Rib River offers some great whitewater, and camping is available at Eastwood Campground. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. The yearly rainfall here at Black Lake is about average; most of the rain falls through September while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You could also stop by Duchien Lake if you're here at Black Lake; it's nearby; why not camp at North Twin Lake Campground

This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Niene Lake, and after a long day outdoors Americinn - Medford, Wi is a glorious place to spend a night or two. At Black Lake during the summer highs are in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are generally in the 10's, and night lows in the-10's for Black Lake. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Black Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Sleep Inn Abbotsford.
