If you need a place to stay Best Western Concord Inn is a brilliant choice, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Bearskin State Park Trail. The annual rainfall here at Bittersweet Lake is about average; August is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Bittersweet Lake. A wonderful place to camp here at Bittersweet Lake is Natural Resources Department,

Minocqua Country Club is a tremendous golf course close by, as expected you could also check out Prong Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Arbor Vitae Trailer Resort is always a fine experience; if you've had enough of Bittersweet Lake, Smith Lake is close by.

Armour Lake
 | 16 miles away My aunt and uncle, Della and Deac Vilutis, owned the resort in the 50's and early 60's. I have many memories if my dad and I fishing on all those lakes. It was truly a beautiful area to grow up in....The lake is spring fed and is connected to Horsehead lake via river and also to North Crab lake and Crab lake. Walleye, large mouth bass, Muskellunge, Northern Pike and sunfish are native to this lake. The lake is 355 acres which host Bill's Island, a public campground that is accessable via boat/canoe. There is one state owned access to this lake on the north side. Many years ago, Armour Lake Resort had been built by my great, great uncle and then owned in the early 40's by my parents who are now both deceased. The resort has since been purchased as a private residence. As a child growing up we have some wonderful memories about this beautiful, spring fed lake. I miss it.... |
