    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Birch Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Take a little tour to East Fork LeRoy Creek since you're here at Birch Lake, and since you're here, you could also explore stunning Perch Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Brule River. Hiking along the Dendro Eco Trail is splendid fun, and do visit Silverdollar Lake, it's a gorgeous lake.
Take a hike on the Lauterman Trail, and you can hit the
 
   slopes at Brule Mountain close by. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Birch Lake has to offer, you can camp at Perch Lake Campground, and Ski Brule has fine slopes and a friendly staff. After a long day outdoors Americinn - Iron River, Mi is a nice location to spend a night or two, and you're sure to run into some smiling people from Iron Mountain here.
For the period of the warmest time
 
               of the year at Birch Lake highs are regularly in the 70's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 20's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Birch Lake tend to be in the 0's. From a rainfall point of view Birch Lake is a quite common location; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. There's so much to do here at Birch Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lauterman Lake Walk-In Campground is a great spot for that; whitewater paddling is nice on Pine River.

The highlight of Paint River Hills Campground is its hiking trail along the Paint River. The loop trail, about half-mile long, winds through and around the rock bluffs and hills that form the banks of the Paint River and for years has been the playground of local youngsters. The name “Paint River Hills” is the term used by locals to describe the location of the campground. Youngsters have named other areas such as Peeper Hollow, Big Rock Candy Mountain, White Pine Lookout, Fairy Tale Swamp, Rock Fort, Thistle Swamp and Camel Back Lookout.

As the trail leads you to several lookouts down the river identification signs greet you naming trees in native Ojibwa as well as Latin and English. You will wind through an old white cedar stand and see rare quartz rock outcroppings. You will have an opportunity to see abundant wildlife, which considers this area along the Paint ...
