If you come at the right time of year, Peshtigo River offers some fine whitewater, and Best Western Crandon Inn & Suites is a splendid place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Big Cub Lake without first going for a hike along the Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail; lakes are such serene places, why not visit Little Cub Lake. Big Cub Lake gets a common amount of yearly rain; September is when you get the most rain here, and February meanwhile

There's delightful hiking along the Eds Lake Trail System, and Big Cub Lake is a good location to visit for more than one day, Bear Lake Campground is a good location to camp nearby. There are brilliant spots to discover along the Dendro Eco Trail, and you can stay the night at Burnt Bridge Campground.

...oday as their lead guide so humorously refered to the capsize. Unfortunatly the one was me! Believe me, the rest of the family brought that instance up more than once around that evening's campfire. After another hot shower, a meal and campfire beneath the stars, the wife and I slipped off for a couple cocktails at the bar located within the resorts campus. Much to our surprise we saw ourselfs running First drop upon the bar television. Seems that one of the larger groups who were along on our noon trip had requested a video of their exploits be filmed. Now the whole world had proof of my paddling prowess. The next morning we packed our tent in the rain in preperation of driving home. As we checked out to leave the resort we discovered a bus load of patrons heading for the Menominee River. Thornton's also service this Big Water gem which flows out of Niagara Wi. And on down through the class IV water of the fabled Pier's Gorge. Suddenly we all wished we had more time. Oh well maybe next trip......

Boulder Lake Lodge Resort is 80 acres located in the Nicolet National Forest on spring fed Boulder Lake. The national forest forms the property line to the north and Boulder Lake is the property line on the south. We have every outdoor sport you can think of from motorized water sports to snowmobiling. There is fishing, hiking, snowshoeing and hunting in the adjecent national forest. At the end of the days activity or just for a mid-afternoon drink, you can stop by for a cold one and some good conversation at the Lodge. The Lodge is a central gathering point with a full liquor licence. Our RV sites are being upgraded all the time. We installed a new dump station in 2005. There are 20 sites with electric only.
