This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Northwoods Lodge is a pleasant location to spend a night or two, and Big Butternut Lake is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Lakeview Park and Campground is a perfect place to camp nearby. For the duration of       the warm months at Big Butternut Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 10's, and night lows in the-10's for Big Butternut Lake. From a rain point of view Big Butternut Lake is a rather normal place; June is the wettest month with most rain while February is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Trollhaugen                  is just what you need, and Pine Grove Resort is a perfect local campground. So many cool things to do at Big Butternut Lake, so little time. Murdock Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and Apple River is a tremendous whitewater spot nearby. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Wild Mountain is next to Big Butternut Lake; a magnificent close by hotel is Luck Country Inn.
