Going for a hike along the Hickory Ridge Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and a perfect site for whitewater paddling is Duncan Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Big Buck Lake there are plenty of folks from Eau Claire, and on a fine day you can take a hike       along the Deer Fly Trail. You can run the rapids of Chippewa River in close proximity to Big Buck Lake, and you'll come across a wonderful lake called Horseshoe Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Christie Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. The warmest time of the year at Big Buck Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and the nighttime is a little cooler of course, typically in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are                  usually in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Big Buck Lake sink into the 0's. Just can't get enough of Big Buck Lake. While you're here at Big Buck Lake you can take a hike along the O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail, and lakes are such serene places, why not check out Little Buck Lake. The amount of rain that falls at Big Buck Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture.
