Hiking is a popular thing to do around Beaver Lake; Rock Lake National Recreation Trail is a nice local trail. You'll need more                  than a day to look at everything Beaver Lake has to offer, you can camp at Boulder Lodge Resort. This lake is so wonderful. The yearly rainfall here at Beaver Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is commonly August, that's the one that rains the most; February on the other hand is the driest. You can run the rapids of Chippewa River - West Fork next to Beaver Lake, and getting to Beaver Lake Creek from Beaver Lake is painless. But wait, there's more to do near Beaver Lake.
