Lakes? Sure, Basswood Lake is in the neighborhood, and good hiking is available along the Pigeon Lake Trail. Wildwood Campground is a great campground here, and after a long day outdoors Hummingbird Haven is a great location to spend a night or two. From a rain point of view Bear Lake is a relatively typical place; through September this area sees the most rain,       and February on the other hand is the driest. What a location this is for outdoors people. Rustic Roost Motel Dining is a good place to get some rest. Golf can be played at Northern Pines Golf Course; the North Country Trail offers hiking at its best. If you came for an overnight stay Perch Lake Campground is a tremendous place to camp, and there's great hiking along the Virgin Pine Trail. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Bear Lake reach                  the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's.
