Whitewater paddling is great on Chippewa River, and a beautiful lake like Barr Lake is a good spot to stop at. There is a great hiking trail next to Bass Lakes called the Hickory Ridge Trail; a good nearby hotel is Glen Loch Motel. At Bass Lakes through the long summer days highs are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are frequently       in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Bass Lakes are in the-10's. From a rainfall point of view Bass Lakes is a relatively common spot; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily September, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Duncan Creek is so much fun; if you need a site to stay Paradise Shores Resort Hotel is a magnificent choice. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining                  stuff, what a great planet it would be. Lots of folks from Eau Claire come to Bass Lakes, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Deer Fly Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Bass Lakes is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Brunet Island State Park is a splendid local campground, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Hay Meadow Trail.
