There is a delightful hiking trail close to Bass Lake called the Bearskin State Park Trail. A lake nearby is Gerbick Lake; get yourself into a kayak and hit Wisconsin River. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Bass Lake. Best Western Lake-Aire Motel & Resort is a tremendous site to get some rest, unsurprisingly you could also go to Sump Lake while you're here; it's not far at all.       This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Bass Lake has to offer, you can camp at Birkensee Resort; if you need a site to stay Rodeway Inn & Suites is a splendid choice. Take a little visit to Big Pine Creek while you're here at Bass Lake, and there are some good whitewater spots on Prairie River. At Bass Lake through the summer months highs are in the 70's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the                  50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for Bass Lake.
