The wonderful people of Iron Mountain like to hang out close by, and Popple River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by. Bass Lake is a good spot of normal rain; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is February. Camping is available at Keyes Lake Campground, and if you've had enough of Bass Lake, Scout Lake is nearby. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Bass Lake has it all. On a great day at Bass Lake you can take a hike along the Lauterman Trail, naturally you could also take a look at Mirror Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Bass Lake are in the-10's.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Lake Hilbert Campground since you're here at Bass Lake, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pine River.
