If you are in Chippewa county it's always a good idea to stop by Barr Lake. This lake is so wonderful. At Barr Lake you always meet someone from Eau Claire, and stunning scenery and splendid skiing is what you acquire at Christie Mountain. Through the warmest time of the year, highs regularly are in the 80's at Barr Lake; the nighttime is somewhat colder of course, mostly in the 50's. at Brunet Island State Park is always a great experience, and whitewater paddling is great on Duncan Creek. If you need a place to stay Paradise Shores Resort Hotel is a fine choice; in the event that you don't mind getting covered
with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chippewa River.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Barr Lake; Deer Fly Trail is a good local trail, and a delightful nearby hotel is Glen Loch Motel. This lake is so wonderful.
Barr Lake is a good site of common rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is regularly the driest month.
