A great location to camp here at Balsam Pond is Shewahmegon Boys Camp; going for a hike on the North Country Trail is always a good adventure. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Rustic Roost Motel Dining is a good location to spend a night or two, and of course, this is a fine vicinity for folks who like lakes, Armstrong Lake is a lake in the vicinity. The amount of rain that falls at Balsam Pond is close       to the national average; through August this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Camping is available at Perch Lake Campground; nearby you locate the Virgin Pine Trail which is a great hiking trail. Just can't get enough of Balsam Pond. During the warm months here at Balsam Pond, high temperatures usually get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. For the period of                  the winter this place gets highs in the 10's while Balsam Pond night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the-10's.
