Nearby lakes? Sure, Bass Lake is close to Balsam Lake, and Balsam Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Blueberry Campground is a nice local campground. Paddling on Chippewa River is so much fun, and a quick visit to Badger Creek is positively a tremendous idea. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Ladysmith, Wi, and going for a hike on the Hardwood Trail is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful. This is a wonderful

There's so much to do here at Balsam Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Windfall Lake Camping is a good place for that. An average amount of rainfall falls at Balsam Lake; the month with most of the rain is September, and February is the month with the least moisture. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy | |

all the fun stuff at Balsam Lake. Near Balsam Lake you stumble on the Serley Camp Trail which is a glorious hiking trail, and Americinn Lodge Ladysmith is a great place to get some rest. Through the summertime at Balsam Lake highs
are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Balsam Lake temperatures dip to the-10's. Christie Mountain is a pleasant local ski area, and you can go for a hike on the Tuscobia Park Falls State Trail.

Tuscobia Park Falls State Trail
 | 14 miles away 1 PHOTO The trail is called the Tuscobia State Trail. It runs 74 miles from Rice Lake to Park Falls, Wisconsin. The Trail crosses through Barron, Sawyer and Price Counties. This is a multi-use trail on the old railroad grade of the Omaha Railroad. There are lots of things to do and places to stop along the trail. There is now camping available at several points along the trail including Radisson, and Ojibwa. At Winter, the last remaining railroad depot, built in 1905, will be historically restored outside and inside, it will house a visitor center, there will be trailhead parking, historical displays, and picnic areas.
