After a long day outdoors Best Western Crivitz Lodge is a good location to spend a night or two, and Huber Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Kosir's Rapid Rafts is a delightful place to camp, and Thunder River is a nice whitewater spot nearby. A great close by hotel is Country Inn &       Suites By Carlson, Iron Mountain, MI, and a good spot for whitewater paddling is Peshtigo River. Be careful coming to Balsam Lake, you might not ever wanna go back home again. At Balsam Lake during the summertime months highs are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Balsam Lake are in the 0's.
