This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a brilliant close by course is Plum Lake Golf Club, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Alligator Eye Trail. Just can't get enough of Ballard Lake. Mel's woods Resort is a tremendous local campground. After a long day outdoors Black Bear Lodge is a magnificent place to spend a night or two; if you've had enough of Ballard Lake, Partridge Lake       is close by. Summertime highs at Ballard Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are typically in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Ballard Lake. You could also stop at Lone Tree Lake if you're here at Ballard Lake; it's close by, and if you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ontonagon River.
