Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in close proximity to Baker Lake. If you come at the right time of year, Wolf River offers some fine whitewater; going for a hike on the Eds Lake Trail System is always a good adventure. During the summer at Baker Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the       10's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Baker Lake temperatures drop to the-10's. From a rain point of view Baker Lake is a rather typical place; the month with most of the rain is September while February is commonly the driest month. If you came to camp Jesse's wolf River Lodge is a nice site to do that, and don't leave Baker Lake without first going for a hike along the Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail. A splendid nearby hotel is Days Inn of Antigo,                  and there are good places to discover along the Popple Ridge Snowmobile Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
