Through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 10's with temperatures at Baker Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Going for a hike on the Markville Snowmobile Trail is always a magnificent       adventure, and if you need a place to stay Best Western Northwoods Lodge is a pleasant choice. You could also explore Little Mallard Lake since you're here at Baker Lake; it's close by, and paddling on St. Croix River is so much fun. An average amount of rain falls at Baker Lake; through August this area sees the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. What a spot this is for outdoors folks. A lake close by is Temple Lake; if you're looking for some flowing                  water? Try Spring Brook. Upper Tamarack River has a good whitewater paddling spot nearby.
