Planter Creek. From a rainfall point of view Averill Lake is a rather normal spot; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month.
If you come at the right time of year, Presque Isle offers
some wonderful whitewater. There's so much to do here at Averill Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Birch Lake Resort and Campground is a perfect place for that.
