Summertime       at Atkins Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, typically in the 50's. All through the winter the highs are regularly in the 10's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for Atkins Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Gogebic Range. Atkins Lake is a good site to visit for more than one day, Chippewa River Campground is a good site to camp nearby; Atkins Lake is right by the Virgin Pine Trail. If you're a golfer then a brilliant nearby course is Lakewoods Resort & Golf Forest Ridges Golf Course; the Rock Lake National Recreation Trail offers hiking at its best. Paddling on Marengo River is so much fun, and Ashland Super 8 Motel is a great site to get some rest. Yeah, come here to Atkins Lake for a great time. Not far from Atkins Lake, you'll hit upon Bullhead Lake which is a pretty lake, and Lake Namakagon Campgrounds is a great campground nearby.
