The lake is spring fed and is connected to Horsehead lake via river and also to North Crab lake and Crab lake. Walleye, large mouth bass, Muskellunge, Northern Pike and sunfish are native to this lake. The lake is 355 acres which host Bill's Island, a public campground that is accessable via boat/canoe. There is one state owned access to this lake on the north side. Many years ago, Armour Lake Resort had been built by my great, great uncle and then owned in the early 40's by my parents who are now both deceased. The resort has since been purchased as a private residence. As a child growing up we have some wonderful memories about this beautiful, spring fed lake. I miss it.

Beautiful Armour Lake has much to offer visitors. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Armour Lake is magnificent fun, Presque Isle Campground is a magnificent local campground; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Minocqua. Soar down the rapids of Presque Isle in a kayak, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - Minocqua is a good choice. Having a good time at Armour Lake is uncomplicated. Nearby lakes? Sure, Stateline Lake is in close proximity to Armour Lake, and why not camp at Birch Lake Resort and Campground since you're here at Armour Lake. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Armour Lake; through August this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. The Gogebic Range scenery is always beautiful. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors just come on up to
the Gogebic Range. Go for a hike on the Alligator Eye Trail, and Indianhead has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff.
