Apeekwa Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. There's so much to do here at Amik Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wabasso Lake Campground is a delightful site for that. Whohoo, so many enjoyable things in one place! Amik Lake is excellent! Turtle River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. At Amik Lake throughout the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's       while night lows are commonly in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 10's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Amik Lake tend to be in the-10's. Amik Lake gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; February on the other hand is the driest. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Flambeau River - South Fork. You'll need more than a day                  to explore everything Amik Lake has to offer, you can camp at Emily Lake Campground. This lake is so wonderful. New Concord Inn is a splendid place to get some rest, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Amik Lake; Newman Springs Ski Trail is a great local trail.
