What a nice lake Altoona Lake 883 is. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Hickory Ridge Trail. Dry warm beds await you at Antlers Motel, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Eau Claire here.

Fivemile Creek flows through this area; Altoona Lake 883 is not the only place close by, Altoona Lake is a close by lake. Half Moon Beach is next to Altoona Lake 883 if you're in a beach type of mood, and Altoona Lake 883 is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Kamp O'klare Campground is a splendid local campground.

If you need a spot to stay Evenox Motel is a good choice; Eau Claire Golf & Country Club is a perfect golf course close by. Camping at Elmer's Campgrounds is always a great experience, and there are some good whitewater spots on Duncan
Creek. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Altoona Lake 883; the overnight is quite colder of course, mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Altoona Lake 883.
On a magnificent day at Altoona Lake 883 you can take a hike along the Hay Meadow Trail; if you come at the right time of year, Chippewa River offers some fine whitewater.
