This location is peerless, just explore all the exciting stuff to do close to Altoona Lake. There's whitewater on Duncan Creek for all you adrenaline people; beaches are fine and Half Moon Beach is no exception. summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Altoona Lake with overnight lows in the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Altoona Lake are in the 0's.
This lake is so
wonderful. Near Altoona Lake you discover the Hay Meadow Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. From a precipitation point of view Altoona Lake is a reasonably typical spot; of all the months in a year June is the one with the
most rain, and the driest month is February. Lots of folks from Eau Claire come to Altoona Lake, and the Hickory Ridge Trail is a great hiking trail close by.
