Camping at Altoona Lake is good fun, Kamp O'klare Campground is a good local campground, and Altoona Lake is right by the Hickory Ridge Trail. While you're here at Altoona Lake you can play some golf at Eau Claire Golf & Country Club, and on a glorious day it's a good idea to spend the day at Half Moon Beach. Dry warm beds await you at Antlers Motel, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Duncan Creek.       This lake is so wonderful. Altoona Lake 883 is a nearby lake that you could visit, and why not have a look at close by Fivemile Creek while you're here at Altoona Lake. This place is peerless, just check out all the fun stuff to do in the neighborhood of Altoona Lake. Hiking along the Hay Meadow Trail is splendid fun, and if you need a location to stay Evenox Motel is a splendid choice. This lake is so wonderful. The O'Neil Creek Flowage Trail offers hiking                  at its best, and get covered with water paddling on Chippewa River. The amount of rain that falls at Altoona Lake is close to the national average; June is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February. Summer at Altoona Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Altoona Lake throughout the wintertime generally sink into the 0's.
