     Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp is a glorious local campground, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sparta Trail Lodge is a magnificent location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Hazel Dell Lake is close at hand; if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Robinson Creek. Do pop by Alder Lake WP358 Dam while you're here at Alder Lake 19, and Jellystone Park Camp Resort is a fine campground  
   nearby. And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining things just keep reading. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Dickey Creek.
The annual rainfall here at Alder Lake 19 is about average; all through the month of September you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February. Three Bears Lodge and Villas is a fine spot to get some rest; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Alderwood

... or around substantial log jams with strong undertows, take out is recommended at Fall-Hall Road. If you'd like to see the F-H Glen, it is a 200yard paddle downstream around a bend to the glen. Secure permission to use the F-H Camp trails if you don't want to drag you boat back upstream. If you want to paddle Robinson Creek, a better put in is at the Old County Road I on the North side where there is a State Forest campsite near the ATV trails (permit req'd to camp)on the north side of the bridge. Along the way are several class I (II) riffles and a millpond dam with designated portage on the right. At Kelly Road, Portage to the right of the dam to avoid a sharp drop on the downstream side of the bridge. The rest of the trip includes some class II (III) runs with several unmarked falls of 4-7' which should be portaged. There were a couple of places to play in and, if waterflow was above average, runs that would challenge an intermediate paddler. My 13 yo son and I paddled and dragged our way to the Black River.
