What a nice lake Albany Lake is. Albany Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Town Edge RV Park and Restaurant is a great local campground; Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Madison Southwest, WI is a glorious place to get some rest. Albany Lake is a good site of common rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain; January on the other hand is the driest. A glorious nearby hotel is Cobblestone Inn and Suites, and at Albany Dam next to Albany

| | Lake there are some attention-grabbing things to see. This is a pleasant region for folks who like lakes. Albany Lake 471 is a lake nearby, and you're sure to run into some wonderful people from Monroe here. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Albany Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Decatur Lake 525, and the vistas at Ice Age National Scenic Trail will blow your mind. This lake is so wonderful. | |

If you came to camp Crazy Horse Campground is a delightful place to do that, and why not a little side spree to Allen Creek. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Albany Lake. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 60's. During
the winter highs are typically in the 20's; overnight lows at Albany Lake during the wintertime regularly fall into the 0's.

Pecatonica River Frst Preserve
 | 19 miles away Tent Sites, RV Hookups, Pets OK, Fires OK, Nearby Grocery...RV:12 gravel pads available, - 49 RV hookups, PETS:must be on a leash, FIRES:firewood available for purchase: firewood cannot be brought in, GROCERY:located within 4 miles...This camping area is located within the Pecatonica River Forest Preserve. Large trees shape and shade the campsites. A boat launch for small boats and canoes, in the lower part of the preserve, provides access to the Pecatonica River. An interpretive booklet is available at the trail head to guide hikers along a 1 1/2 mile nature trail. An additional 8 miles of trail are available to hike at your pleasure. Campers, even on the busiest weekends, can be assured of finding a site in this remote campground, The campground is located four miles northeast of Pecatonica, offering easy access to activities at the Winnebago County Fairgrounds. The campground is open from mid April until mid November,weather permitting. There are 49 sites (4-50 amp and 45- 30 amp hookups), dump station, and horseshoe pits. No firewood may be brought into the campground as a result of the Emerald Ash Borer. Firewood can be purchased at the campground. It's a good ski area based on Wisconsin standards....Tyrol Basin, heck yeah! anytime! I love the place, easily my favorite nearby local weekend spot.
