The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. Yacolt Reservoir commonly gets a lot of precipitation; December is when you get the most rain here, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent place for whitewater paddling close to Yacolt Reservoir is Lewis River - East Fork, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Parkersville Inn & Suites. You'll really wish for       more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Northern Cascade Range. Looking for some flowing water? Try Big Creek; there is a good hiking trail close by called the Siouxon Trail. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rock Creek - Lewis drainage, and nearby you locate the Washougal Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Yacolt Reservoir. Summer overnight lows plunge                  down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Yacolt Reservoir. That right there is lots of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. Moulton Falls is a delightful local attraction, and Cold Creek Campground is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of folks from Portland-Vancouver-Beaverton come to Yacolt Reservoir. Just can't get enough of Yacolt Reservoir. After a long day outdoors Best Western Battle Ground Inn & Suites is a good spot to spend a night or two, and the Horseshoe Ridge Trail is a delightful hiking trail close by.
