Now my husband and I take our little girls so they can enjoy the beauty of the lake and mountains for themselves. We have to pass on an appreciation of the outdoors to the next generation. CHUCK K: While attending James Lick HS in the 50s we used to sneak up there after school and fish until dark. We came home many times with large stringers of fat blue gills and small mouth black bass.I have never had a better fishing experience since those days and have always missed it. We quit going up there after we turned 18 years old for fear of getting in trouble. Through the summer highs here at Wynoochee Lake reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Wynoochee Lake dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. This spot, the Olympic       Mountains, has so much outdoors cool stuff. There's so much to do here at Wynoochee Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wynoochee Falls Campground is a fine site for that, and a great nearby hotel is Lake Quinault Lodge. Wynoochee Dam is a gorgeous place right next door to Wynoochee Lake, and you'll hit upon a gorgeous lake called Grisdale Pond. Stay the night at Coho Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Wynoochee River offers some                  fine whitewater. And that's not all you can do here at Wynoochee Lake. While you're here at Wynoochee Lake you can take a hike along the Skyline Trail; drift down the rapids of Big Creek in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. Wynoochee Lake is a beautiful lake in the Olympic Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Big Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit, and Microtel Inn and Suites-Elma is a great place to get some rest. So many cool things to do in the Olympic Mountains, not enough time.
