Windon Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Cascade Range. So many cool things in the Northern Cascade Range, just mind-blowing. Have a great hiking adventure along the Lost Creek Ridge Trail, and camping is available at Deer Creek Campground. Windon Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Take a hike on the Finney Peak Trail, and get dripping wet paddling

| | on Sauk River. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Meadow Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and if you came for an overnight stay Perry Creek Campground is a great place to camp. High temperatures at Windon Lake through the summer months are in the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. Windon Lake throughout the wintertime generally drop into the 30's. This is no location for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Independence Lake is a wonderful lake near Windon Lake, and get yourself into a kayak and hit
Clear Creek. Lakes are such serene sites, why not stop by Helena Lake near Windon Lake; if the weather is lovely, you acquire a nice view of Devils Peak from Windon Lake. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Stephens Pass.

 | 25 miles away 1 PHOTO Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out... |
