Windmill Pond is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Peaceful Pines Camp Ground is a brilliant local campground, and lots of folks from Spokane come here. Blackhorse Lake is a great lake right next door to Windmill Pond, and get your pulse rate up on the glorious whitewater of Spokane River. Throughout the summertime months at Windmill Pond highs are commonly       in the 80's, and the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, generally in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Windmill Pond are in the 20's. At Windmill Pond you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the snow is December, and July on the other hand is the driest. Don’t forget to explore Phillips Meadow while you're here at Windmill Pond; Willow Springs Motel near EWU is a brilliant place to get some                  rest. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Hangman Creek. What a spot this is for outdoors people.
