It is very dried up here at Wheelhouse Pond generally; December is when you get the most rain here, and July is when it's the driest. Camping at Deschutes River State Recreation Area is always a great experience; McCarty Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at. A short tour to Henderson Spring is always worthwhile, and if you need a place to stay Travelodge is a good       choice. After a long day outdoors Biggs Nu Vu Motel is a fine site to spend a night or two; if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Deschutes River. During the warm days of summer at Wheelhouse Pond temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and night lows at Wheelhouse Pond during the winter typically dip into                  the 20's. Be careful coming to Wheelhouse Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. Wheelhouse Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Peach Beach RV Park is a nice local campground. This lake is so wonderful.
