Watch Lake is always a pleasure to visit. All year is a tremendous time in the Northern Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. If time allows, Mount Rainier National Park is a national park worth going to; from Watch Lake you obtain a delightful panorama of Watch Mountain. On a glorious day at Watch Lake you can take a hike along the Big Creek Trail, and if you need a place to stay Econo Lodge Buckley is a tremendous choice. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a

If the weather is good here at Watch Lake, you can go for a hike along the Osborne Mountain Trail, and there are some great whitewater spots on Silver Creek. Lake is just a very short distance away. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Watch Lake highs are typically in the 70's with night lows in the 40's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 40's with temperatures
at Watch Lake dipping down into the 30's through winter nights. Watch Lake is a relatively wet place mostly with a good deal of rain; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest month of the year is July.

 | 10 miles away July 19, 2008-- We hiked up to Mt. Beljica this date. I would not recommend it just yet because of the unusually heavy snowfall last winter, unless you're very familiar with the trail. The entire trail is still snow covered from Lake Christine on up to the top of Mt. Beljica. We lost the trail, and then found it again.... that was a bit unnerving.... |
