This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Waptus Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Tucquala Meadow Campground is a great spot for that, and a day on the slopes of Snoqualmie is just what you need. Since you're here at Waptus Lake why not have a look at Waptus Pass, and let's not forget Quick Creek which is a stream that you may run into while you're here. Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here
in the Northern Cascade Range. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cle Elum River; dry warm beds await you at Howard Johnson Snoqualmie/Summit.
If you need a site to stay Suncadia Resort is a great choice. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. Lakes? Sure, Lake Vicente is close by; there is a good hiking trail close by called the Lake Michael Trail.
Whohoo, so much fun stuff in one place! The Northern Cascade Range is great! Head up to

Stephens Pass and strap some skis to your feet, and close by you stumble on the Red Mountain Trail which is a glorious hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Deadhead Lake, and you can stay the night at Hour Creek Campground. Waptus Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily January, that's the one that snows the most, and the driest of the months is July.
So many cool things to do here at Waptus Lake, too good to be true. Glide down the rapids of Cooper River in a kayak, and the Escondido Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. High temperatures at Waptus Lake throughout the summer months are in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's while Waptus Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.

Bonnie Lake
Bonney lake Is not trained. It is drained in the winter, who ever runs the dam doesn't man it in winter so they let it drain. There was talk that they would not fill it any more....Just heard that Bonnie Lake is drained in the winter and then refilled in the Spring. Can you tell me why?...

Tucquala Lake

This ''Lake'' Is Beautiful. It really isn't a lake at all, in the summer it is a widening of the river. Very slow moving river, more like a slough, it is very clean, clear, and cold, mountain runoff. The fishing is excellent from a small boat or float tube, although the current can be somewhat strong. I fly fished, using a #14 Adams, and caught 11 rainbow and cutthroat trout between 6 & 11'', in the early to mid evening. This was in July of 2008. Camping was good, small sites along the main road. Keep your food in the cars though as Bears are definitely out....

Wish Poosh Campground
12 miles away
We overnighted at this campsite a couple of weekends ago. The camp hosts were wonderful, they were informative and kept the grounds and the bathrooms spic-n-span clean. They were always in their golf cart putting around taking care of this or that. They scolded us for staying the night in a place we weren't supposed to, and I felt bad about that because I knew we shouldn't have stayed there but my partner insisted and it was his birthday. I knew they were just keeping order at the campground they were in charge of, and I appreciated that. Keep up the good work!...

Stephens Pass

Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out...

Pacific Crest Trail - section 25
13 miles away
Roundtrip Distance 17.4 miles
Elevation Gain 2,574 ft.
This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking. For these particular mountains, it is imperative that the hiker carry a compass (and know how to use it) and topographic map....

From the steep and deep to the high-speed buffed-out cruisers, from our gentle learning areas to our benchmark parks and pipe, diversity is a way of life around here. With four unique base areas and less than an hour from Seattle on Interstate 90, no other resort in the country offers so much variety with this much convenience. Consider it a buffet for the outdoor enthusiast!
For the third year in a row, we stayed open longer than any other resort in the state, this season through Memorial Day. What can we say? We love spring skiing as much as you do!
So if you're looking for a true escape this winter, look no further than The Summit.

Lunker Lake

...ealistic and entertaining family game, that is easily played by people of all ages. This ultimate freshwater fishing game is both exciting and challenging for anglers and non-anglers alike. There are several species of fish lurking in the depths of Lunker Lake. Including Muskie, Walleye, Lake Trout, Pike, Large and Small Mouth Bass? but you must catch the ''Lunkers'' to open your options. The first player to catch 2 fish from each of the 6 different areas in the lake is TOP ANGLER and wins the game. Watch for sandbars, and be sure to have your life jacket and fishing license for everyone? the fisheries officer is unforgiving.
