This lake is so wonderful. Super 8 Motel       - Shelton is a splendid spot to get some rest, and Wagonwheel Lake is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Staircase Campground is a good spot to camp nearby. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Skokomish River - North Fork; close by you hit upon the Royal Creek Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. This place, the Olympic Mountains, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. Bear Gulch is near Wagonwheel Lake                  and is a tremendous spot, and you can distinguish Copper Mountain from Wagonwheel Lake. Wagonwheel Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; December is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month of the year is July. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Olympic Mountains.
