If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Northern Cascade Range. Varden Creek is a striking stream that is worth going to. While you're here at Varden Lake you can take a hike along the West Fork Methow Trail, and if you've had enough of Varden Lake, Dolly Lake is nearby. Summertime highs at Varden Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's; the overnight is somewhat       cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Varden Lake are in the 20's. This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Sun Mountain Lodge is a brilliant place to get some rest, and a brilliant site for whitewater paddling is Methow River. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Northern Cascade Range. You'll need more                  than a day to look at everything Varden Lake has to offer, you can camp at Rivers Bend Campground, and on a glorious day you can take a hike along the Monument Creek Trail. Varden Lake is a good place of normal precipitation; the month with most of the snow is December; the driest month of the year is July. You could also visit Mudhole Lake while you're here at Varden Lake; it's nearby, and you can have a glorious hiking adventure along the Driveway Butte Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
