A lake nearby is Deadmans Lake; there's whitewater on Cispus River for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. The Coldwater Trail offers hiking at its best. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Vanson Lake with night lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Vanson Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. Be careful       coming to the Northern Cascade Range, you might not ever want to go back home again. Quartz Creek Big Trees Campground is a nice local campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Fawn Lake Trail. That right there is heaps of fun stuff already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. Take a side spree to Falls Creek, and do take a hike on the Independence Pass Interpretive Trail. Places like Vanson Meadow are brilliant to stop by, and                  Mount Rainier National Park is a nice local destination. This lake is so wonderful. Vanson Lake is not the only location close by, Island Lake is a close by lake, and Taidnapam Park is a great campground nearby. Vanson Peak is gorgeous and can be spotted from Vanson Lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Cowlitz River. Vanson Lake is a beautiful lake in the Northern Cascade Range. Vanson Lake gets a good deal of water; December is when you get the most rain here while July is frequently the driest month.   Econo Lodge Buckley, Buckley 37 miles away Mt.
