     Washington has many beautiful lakes and Thunder Lakes is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Snowwater Condos is a great choice, and Thunder Lakes is not the only place close by, Clear Lake is a close by lake. Stay the night at Wilderness Village, and don't leave Thunder Lakes without first going for a hike along the Gee Point Trail. And if that's not sufficient there's heaps more enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range.  
   You could also go to Edgar Lake since you're here at Thunder Lakes; it's close by; you can go for a hike on the Finney Peak Trail.
But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Thunder Lakes. Thunder Lakes is a great place to visit for more than one day, Clark's Skagit River Resort is a great place to camp nearby; get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Baker River. Now, you may assume that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do
 
               here in the Northern Cascade Range. It's a glorious idea to visit Survey Creek, it's right next door to Thunder Lakes, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Jackman River.
Thunder Lakes is located in the Northern Cascade Range. Thunder Lakes is a quite wet place generally with a large amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is November while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. High temperatures at Thunder Lakes all through the warmest time of the year are in the 70's while night lows are regularly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Thunder Lakes are in the 30's.

We camped at blue lake july 23&24 2009.The trail is in good shape,short and easy.The lake is crystal clear and the scenery is spectacular with tall granite cliffs and multiple small 200+ ft waterfalls.Would be a great day hike for children.Bring bug spray,the mosquitos are voracious...
