    If you are in this part of Washington make sure to pay a visit to Thornton Lake. The high level of rainfall makes Thornton Lake a pretty wet location; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most, and July is when it's the driest. And if that's not sufficient there's heaps more fun stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Thornton Lake is right by the Meadow Mountain Trail; Sauk River has a great whitewater paddling  
   spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. You'll come across a stunning lake called White Chuck Lakes near Thornton Lake.
All the outdoors exciting things near Thornton Lake will keep you coming back repeatedly. Take a hike on the Lost Creek Ridge Trail, and Crystal Creek Campground is a nice local campground. White Chuck Campground is a great campground nearby, and while you're here, you could also stop at beautiful Lake Metam. Summer at Thornton Lake
 
               arrives with high temperatures in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's with temperatures at Thornton Lake dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. Just can't get enough of the Northern Cascade Range. Rat Trap Pass is a wonderful site to explore, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Whitechuck River. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Stephens Pass, and Stujack Creek is in the vicinity of Thornton Lake and is always a pleasure to go to.
White Chuck Mountain can be seen from Thornton Lake; you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Camp Creek Ridge Trail.

Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out...
