All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's, and night lows through the wintertime for Thornton Lake tend to be in the 20's. A lake nearby is White Chuck Lakes, and going for a hike on the Camp Creek Ridge Trail is always a great adventure. You just have to fancy the Northern Cascade Range. The top of       White Chuck Mountain is easily spotted from Thornton Lake, and Thornton Lake is close to Rat Trap Pass which is undeniably worth checking out. Thornton Lake mostly gets lots of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is November, and July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Stephens Pass is a glorious place to do that. Man, is there a lot                  of enjoyable things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Thornton Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Crystal Creek Campground is a nice local campground, and Whitechuck River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. Stujack Creek is a splendid local stream, and a delightful spot to camp here at Thornton Lake is White Chuck Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Thornton Lake is not the only location close by, Lake Metam is a close by lake; there is a glorious hiking trail close by called the Lost Creek Ridge Trail. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Thornton Lake.
