Thorndyke Lake is a lake worth visiting. Now, you may assume that's heaps but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Olympic Mountains. There's so much to do here at Thorndyke Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Leland Lake Campground is a great place for that, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Big Quilcene River. All through the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 70's
at Thorndyke Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's; nighttime lows at Thorndyke Lake throughout the winter usually plunge into the 30's. Thorndyke Lake gets a lot of water; during the month of December you get the most rain around here while July is frequently the driest month.
This lake is so wonderful. This is a great neighborhood for people who like lakes.

Lost Lake is a lake nearby; there are plenty of people from Bremerton-Silverdale here. Be careful coming to Thorndyke Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. For you golfers we recommend nearby Port Ludlow Golf Course, and why not take a look at Thorndyke Bay also if you're here. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Thorndyke Lake has to offer, you can camp at Erland Point Mobile Home Park, and going for a hike on the Mount Zion Trail is always a perfect adventure.
And if that's not enough there's heaps more amusing things to do in the Olympic Mountains. There is a great hiking trail near Thorndyke Lake called the Deadfall Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Poulsbo, Wa. This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water close by flows, like Thorndyke Creek, and The Resort At Port Ludlow is a good spot to get some rest.
