    Why not stop by Tahuya Lake if you're passing through these parts. Go for a hike on the Mount Jupiter Trail, and after a long day outdoors Bremerton Super 8 Motel is a great spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Deadfall Trail. Lakes? Sure, Panther Lake is in the vicinity. Through the months of summer here at Tahuya Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's, and the overnight is fairly colder of course,  
   generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Tahuya Lake drop into the 30's.
If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Tahuya Lake. Do schedule some time to have a look at Great Peninsula in the vicinity of Tahuya Lake if you have a chance; a pleasant place to camp here at Tahuya Lake is Park Place On Hood Canal. There's whitewater on Dosewallips
 
               River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Tahuya River Dam. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Tahuya Lake. Swamps can be such interesting places, pop by McCaslin Marsh if you're here at Tahuya Lake.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out close by Mission Lake, and camping at Norseland Mobile Estates is always a fine experience. While you're here at Tahuya Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Bremerton-Silverdale; some of the water close by flows, like Gold Creek. You can run the rapids of Duckabush River near Tahuya Lake, and a trip to Maple Beach is always a fine idea.
This lake is so wonderful. A splendid close by hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites, and you have to undeniably stop at pretty Scenic Beach if you're here. Tahuya Lake is a wet place that gets a great deal of rainfall; December is when you get the most rain here; the driest of the months is July.

Cattail Lake in within the Bangor Naval Submarine Base and has not been accessible (even to most navy personnel) since 911.  I have not been to Cattail Lake in a long time.  It is a small natural lake with no dam.   I don't think there is public camping at the Erland Point Mobile Home Park or CRISTA Camps & Conference grounds.  CRISTA Camps & Conference center is at the south end of Island Lake in Silverdale....

This is mainly a private lake for people who have houses on it. There is a boat launch which is very small and to the point. :) There is also a park for employees of a certain company which I forget the name of now. This lake is very clean and refreshing. It is great for boats and inter tubing and swimming all the same :)  Love this Lake!!...THERE IS A PUBLIC AREA AT THIS PARK,BOATING SWIM AND PICNIC AREA...
