This lake is so wonderful. A fine place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Lake Sundown is Satsop River - Middle Fork, and Lake Sundown is right by the Long Ridge Trail. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Sundown a wet spot; all through the month of December you get the most rain around here while July is typically the driest month. And if that's not enough there's lots more cool things to       do in the Olympic Mountains. The Elwha River Trail offers hiking at its best, and Sundown Pass is also a splendid spot to discover. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Sundown; Skyline Trail is a great local trail; if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Snowfield Creek. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more fun things to do here in the Olympic Mountains. Lake Sundown is good enough to spend more than a day at, Wynoochee Falls                  Campground is a good local campground. Lake Sundown is located in the Olympic Mountains. There are other places here than Lake Sundown, for example McGravey Lakes, and you can run the rapids of Quinault River. Be careful coming to Lake Sundown, you might not ever wanna return home again. Camping at Graves Creek Campground is always a nice experience, and lovely scenery and good skiing is what you get at Hurricane Ridge Ski Lodge. High temperatures at Lake Sundown during the warm months are in the 70's while nighttime lows are commonly in the 40's.
