     Sullivan Lake Dam is worth checking out while you're here, and why not a little side visit to Elk Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such serene places, why not stop at Crater Lake near Sullivan Lake, and Sullivan Lake is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Sullivan Lake Campground is a great spot to camp nearby. For the duration of the summer here at Sullivan Lake, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends  
   down to the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Sullivan Lake are in the 10's. So many amusing things to do at Sullivan Lake, so little time. If the weather is brilliant here at Sullivan Lake, you can go for a hike along the Terry Trail.
Stay the night at Mill Pond Campground, and Comfort Inn Colville is a great location to get some rest. There are other places here than Sullivan Lake, for example
 
               Mill Pond, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Sullivan River. Sullivan Lake gets very little rainfall; through the month of December you get the most snow around here; September is when it's the driest.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
