Squaw Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Northern Cascade Range. Going for a hike on the Big Creek Trail is always a perfect adventure, and camping at Cougar Rock Campground is always a great experience. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. Squaw Lake is a reasonably wet place ordinarily with a good deal of rain; the month of November is the wettest with most
of the rain, and July is when it's the driest.
After a long day outdoors Kings Valu Inn is a good spot to spend a night or two, and Squaw Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Longmire Campground is a magnificent local campground. Mount Ararat is a peak you can see from Squaw Lake, and don't forget to take a wonderful little spree to Devils Dream Creek. And that's not all you can do here at Squaw Lake. Near Squaw Lake you come across the Moraine

Trail which is a great hiking trail, and a tour to Mount Rainier National Park is worthwhile.
So much entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range, not sufficient time. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Skate Creek; there is a fine hiking trail close by called the Silver Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Squaw Lake, you'll hit upon Saint Andrews Lake which is a pretty lake. Lakes are delightful; Mirror Lakes is a lake that's in the vicinity of Squaw Lake. For the duration of the summer at Squaw Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Squaw Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Butter Creek; The Ramparts is an attention-grabbing thing to distinguish since you're here.

Lake Christine
July 19, 2008-- We hiked up to Mt. Beljica this date. I would not recommend it just yet because of the unusually heavy snowfall last winter, unless you're very familiar with the trail. The entire trail is still snow covered from Lake Christine on up to the top of Mt. Beljica. We lost the trail, and then found it again.... that was a bit unnerving....

Osborne Mountain Trail
Osborne Mtn. Trail is written up as being in Lewis County but is also listed under Pierce County so there is a discrepancy there....
