Go to Spider Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Spider Lake is a beautiful lake in the Olympic Mountains. So many fun things to do here at Spider Lake, too perfect to be true. Dry warm beds await you at Microtel Inn and Suites-Elma, and some of the water close by flows, like Walter Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Spider Lake is not the only spot close by, Dry Bed Lakes is a close by lake, and there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Skyline Trail.

Be careful coming to the Olympic Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. A lake nearby is Pine Lake. There's so much to do here at Spider Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wynoochee Falls Campground is a great spot for that. Spider Lake typically gets a great deal of rainfall; most of the rain falls during December, and the driest month is July. Paddling on Satsop River - Middle Fork is so much fun, and Spider Lake is great enough
to spend more than a day at, Brown Creek Campground is a great local campground.
That right there is heaps of fun things already but it goes on, the Olympic Mountains has it all. All through the summertime at Spider Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Spider Lake. If you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Shelton is a splendid choice, and get dripping wet paddling on Baker Creek.

There is nothing to see at Pine Lake and you have to hike a long ways to reach it....

Wynoochee Falls Campground
Nothing is left except overgrown roads and a couple of holes where there used to be an outhouse.

The falls are picturesque and were featured in a 1961 movie ''Ring of Fire''

Yes the Elwha River trail is only 18 miles away but that is by trail straight through the heart of the Olympic Mtns. And park.
...
Wynoochee Falls campground has been closed and the campground sign, firepits, restroom and tables removed. You?ll have to drive about 15 miles of gravel road to get here. There is a rock pedestal with a missing sign along the Wynoochee road 4 miles NE of the lake near the end of the road. This marks the parking area and access trail down to the falls. The ? mile trail is interrupted with large ditches to discourage access and camping. The waterfall is only about 100 feet high, (maybe less) but very picturesque, with a large clear basin at its base and an outlet scoured through granite rocks....
